Abstract
A randomized pilot study compared monthly cycled testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and continuous TRT with placebo in older men, assessing effects on metabolic, muscle, and functional outcomes. Both TRT regimens showed significant increases in serum total testosterone compared to placebo. Continuous TRT demonstrated superior efficacy in maintaining testosterone levels and improving lean body mass (LBM) and muscle strength. However, differences between monthly and continuous TRT were not statistically significant.
